Hey friend! I’m so excited to share my colorful, fun and fashionable world with you! It feels so nice to finally have my website up and running! My husband Nathan and I have put months of work into creating greeting cards, ordering inventory, photographing it, listing it on the website, and building out all our other business materials. It’s been a full journey thus far and I can’t wait to see where it takes us!
You may have been following me via Instagram for a while, or maybe you’re a new friend, either way I wanted to share with you a bit more about the Goodey Studio team and our philosophy!
Nathan is my ever so supportive husband who I couldn’t have done this without! I am so lucky that he is patient with both me and technology! We have him to thank for putting the website together and figuring out all the technical junk to get this website up and running the way I liked it. Every time I sat down to try to work on it, within 15 minutes I’d be fuming and ready to throw the computer out the window for not intuitively knowing what I wanted it to do and making it happen instantly! I call Nathan the business side of the Goodey Studio team. Besides the website he handles most of the emails (so if you have a question he will be more than happy to answer), business outreach, and he keeps all of our accounting numbers in line! Isn’t he awesome? When Nathan isn’t working you can usually find him listening to his record collection, dreaming of more hi-fi audio equipment for our home, or meandering through record shops in Seattle.
I’m the art side of the Goodey Studio team. We built this business out of my passion to create! When I started painting fashion illustration styled watercolor paintings we knew I was on to something. Eventually it came around to creating a greeting card line from these watercolor illustrations. I haven’t looked back since. Nathan and I giggle a lot coming up with the greetings for the cards. Sometimes a card starts with a greeting and sometimes it starts with a painting, but either way I love getting swept away in the creative process of creating the cards. I get to pull out all my paint, color swatch samples, glitter, sequins and Swarovski crystals and see what magic comes of it! Of course there are tons of tedious hours also spent on the computer cleaning up scans, tweaking colors, and resizing images for layouts. I’m also the social media side of things. If you’re commenting to us on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest or Twitter then you’re talking with me! I love sharing behind the scenes pictures, work in progress snippets, and things that are inspiring me. You can expect similar things weekly here on the blog, plus I’ll be sharing monthly background images for your devices and DIY gift giving and wrapping tutorials! When I'm not officially working you can find me perusing Pinterest, laughing at my own jokes, shopping for a fabulous new outfit or convincing Nathan I NEED more art supplies!
Let’s live life with more color, fun and fashion! Let’s express our unique voice and vision. Let’s leave the boring for someone else and embrace the celebration that is living life to the fullest! Let’s giggle with girlfriends, shop till we drop, eat to our hearts content, and embrace joy!!!
On Wednesday I’ll be sharing an inside look into my studio where all the magic happens and I’ll tell you why I decorated the way I did and what it has done for me!
